Hi, I'm Samm ^-^.
I'm 20, engaged to my wonderful fiancee Dann, studying business, living in a quiet little town outside of Birmingham and I knit.
Here you will find my projects and any knitting porn I find on Tumblr.

SWATCH SWATCH SWATCH!! (Doesn’t mean I do it tho…and I always pay for it!)
Don’t buy the wool just cos it’s pretty, make sure it is suitable for your project, unless you are just buying wool for your stash. However if you’re anything like me and knitting on a budget…try to only buy wool for projects.
Don’t be afraid to mess around with patterns, it could either end up a mess or as something awesome.
Don’t have too many projects (I have hundreds of projects on needles!) Finish them off!!

I can crochet as well and very basic amounts of sewing (although I’m learning more of that through knitting).
I really want to learn some paper crafts and maybe some cross stitch. Since I got a kitten knitting has become difficult and I’d like to branch out into other areas. I’m also considering buying a spinning wheel with my Mom so we can both start spinning and once I finish my HND I want to get into pattern cutting and dress making. Might take a part time course at college :)

Most of my yarn is brought from Hobbycraft, however I’m getting really bored of their selection now so I’ve been looking online a lot more and I’ve been really happy with what I’ve purchased so far :). Online is probably gonna become my main source.

I’ve really wanted to be part of a KAL but I want to do one in person, not online. Although I would be up for doing an online KAL I just don’t have time with everything I’m knitting and the things I need to knit before christmas.

I have sooo many books, probably like 30 of them and they are all over the place, so no pictures :P but yeah they have post it notes of yarn I want to use and adjustments to the pattern and then I have a big notebook which I use to keep track of the row I’m on cos I can’t deal with a row counter on the end of my needle, it makes them feel funny :)

Erm I’ve made my own scarf pattern, but that wasn’t exactly difficult, it was just a rib stitch with tassels on it. I haven’t dyed my own yarn yet but I’d like to get into that. I think that will be when I have a proper house and I can have a craft room :)

I’d start the shawl I’m going to knit for my future mother in law for Christmas. I need a really nice grey lace weight wool though first and as I’m more of a bright colours kind of person I’m struggling finding a grey I like. It’s for the Rock Island shawl on Ravelry:: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/rock-island
I’d also start the hat I’m going to knit for one of my friends birthdays and the socks I plan to knit for another friends birthday.

See this is dedication. It’s my birthday today and I’m still completing one of these :).
In answer to the question, yes, I spent months knitting that Scott Pilgrim hat and the guy I did it for just didn’t really appreciate it/hasn’t worn it. I’m quite annoyed tbf. So yeahh he gets no more knitted things!

I do indeed, I’d say like 80% of my knitting was gifts for other people. If I’m knitting for myself I’m just not as motivated. I’ve got quite a list of gifts to knit, but its all secret so shhh :P

I have knit in public, people just tend to stare or ask me what I’m doing. I knit at uni as well, it helps me to concentrate and no-one minds except one girl (who is kind of a MASSIVE bitch anyways) she seems to have a problem with it even though it doesn’t affect her in the slightest. But then again she also has a problem with the fact I work in a supermarket and assumes I’m stupid, despite the fact I consistently get better grades than her.
Anyways more people need to knit in public. I find when I do people always say “That’s awesome, I wish I could knit” or something along those lines.

I’m always knitting so I knit to a lot of things. I mostly knit to the TV or if I’m round my parents house then while I’m talking to them. Podcast wise I absolutely love the Knit Girllls. They are absolutely fantastic! LOOK THEM UP!! :)

I knit English style but I can knit Continental.
That was a short one today.

Not yet no. I haven’t been knitting very long so things haven’t had chance to be ruined yet. However I have knitting things, that have been asked for, that have not been appreciated. But oh well, I enjoyed knitting them :)

Not as such no. I’ve had the usual pain and soreness on my finger tips that comes before you get your calluses. I’ve managed to poke myself in the face…don’t ask.
I’ve still not done as good as a lady I know who left her knitting needles wedged down the side of the sofa while she went and made herself a cup of tea, she forgot about them and then sat down…yeahh the needles got stuck. OUCH!
